About Us
The mission of Delaware County Planning Department (DCPD) is to promote the sound development and redevelopment of the County through the application of contemporary planning principles and smart growth concepts, while maintaining and enhancing the cultural, economic, and environmental livability of the County.
The Department, under the direction of John E. Pickett, AICP, is organized into seven functional planning sections: Community Assistance, County & Regional Planning, Environmental Planning, GIS & Information Services, Historic Preservation, Plan & Ordinance Review, and Transportation Planning assisted and supported by a professional Administration staff.
To facilitate contacting a planner in each section, the section's General Information page contains the contact’s name, telephone number, and email address. In addition, we have provided a complete Staff Directory and an Organizational Chart.
We hope that you will find our website easy to navigate and that you will learn more about us and the wide variety of services that the Planning Department offers, many of them free or for a modest fee.
