HOW TO RECORD A PLAN
All subdivision and land development plans must be approved by the municipality and reviewed by the Delaware County Planning Commission at one of its monthly meetings.
The Delaware County Planning Department (second floor of the Toal Building) will stamp and sign a plan that has been signed and dated by the municipal Council or the Board of Supervisors/Commissioners stating approval confirming the Delaware County Planning Commission review of the approved plan. To facilitate the stamping process when you arrive, please be certain to have the assigned “DCPD File Number” (i.e. 40-1234-07-08) that can be found on all correspondence from our office regarding the plan available.
The applicant must then go to the Delaware County Board of Assessment-Appeals (ground floor of the Government Center building) to obtain a tax map number and folio number for lots that have been created via a subdivision or document/validate these numbers for existing lots.
The applicant will then take the plan for recording to the Delaware County Recorder of Deeds (first floor of the Government Center building) and pay a nominal fee. The Recorder of Deeds requires plans for recording to be a minimum of 18" X 30" and no larger than 36" X 46".
