Preservation Review Activities

Land Development
and Subdivision Reviews

All applications for subdivision and land development are forwarded to Historic Preservation section for review prior to presentation to the County Planning Commission.  The review consists of evaluating the proposed plan for potential damage, alteration, or demolition to historical resources, both those built above ground, as well as what may lie below, as well as providing insight into the past.  The archaeological aspect of the review process is completed through the use of a comprehensive mapping study included in the Delaware County Archaeological Resource Inventory and Management Plan, created by Cultural Heritage Research Services, Inc.
