General Information
The Historic Preservation section identifies, designates, and helps develop preservation strategies for the County’s historic, cultural, and archaeological resources. These efforts help enhance the character of our communities and generate economic vitality. In addition, planners in this section prepare the preservation component for all projects that involve historic resources and provide staff support to the Delaware County Heritage Commission, an advisory body to County Council charged with coordinating and promoting the County’s rich cultural diversity.
DCPD’s Historic Preservation planners also have a wealth of files, survey information, and historical atlases that are available to other agencies and the public at large.
