2010 Decennial Census Data

The Census Bureau released the first local 2010 Census results for Pennsylvania on March 9, 2011. The released data comes from the 2010 Census Redistricting Data (Public Law 94-171). It is the first set of population data available from the 2010 Census for Pennsylvania counties, municipalities, and other geographies down to the census block level.

Note: Due to recent corrections in Census 2000 data, the population of Delaware County was edited to 551,974.  The population increase is a result of Haverford Township gaining population that had been counted in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County. Due to a misallocation of prison population, Concord Township gained population, and Thornbury Township lost population.  These changes are not reflected in any data sets, in our data packet, or on the website except for “Population by Municipality: 1980 – 2000” and “Density by Municipality.”
