Delaware County Parks Signage Manual

Delaware County is developing a County Parks Signage Manual to be used in creating consistent and uniform signage for County-owned Parks.

Delaware County was awarded a $41,600 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to develop a manual for the County Parks system. The project involves preparation of design templates for park signage that will allow the County to “brand” its system. The project also includes design of logos for both the Parks Department and the Mineral Hill Area trails, as well as an evaluation of park signage needs, including entrance, wayfinding, trail, and interpretive signage in the parks. The final work products will help the County create a more seamless look for its parks, while also enhancing the user experience. Simone Collins Landscape Architecture, a firm specializing in open space planning and signage design, was hired to assist the County with development of the signage manual.

The County formed a Study Committee comprised of representatives from the Parks and Planning Departments; the County Park Board, Conservation District, and Heritage Commission; and Destination Delco to provide input on the project.
