Recognizing September as

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

Delaware County Council joined Robin Cohen, CEO of the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation during its council meeting on Sept. 12 to declare September as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

Ovarian Cancer is the fifth leading cause of death among women in the United States and is the deadliest of all gynecological cancers. It is estimated that in 2018, approximately 22,280 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and about 14,240 will die from the disease. The Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation, based in Havertown, was founded as a tribute to Sandy Rollman, who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2000. The Foundation has various activities scheduled for September to raise awareness and money for research. More details on the events can be found here: https://sandyovarian.org/
