County Council holds weekly public meeting

on July 11 in East Lansdowne

Delaware County Council will once again hold a meeting in the community with the goal of providing residents with more options to interact with their county government leaders. Council will hold its weekly public meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11 at the East Lansdowne Borough Hall located at 155 Lexington Ave. in East Lansdowne. This offsite meeting is part of council’s ongoing efforts to enhance communication with residents by taking meetings out into community.

“Holding evening meetings in the community makes it more convenient for some of our residents to attend a council meeting and become more involved with their local government,” said Delaware County Council Chairman John McBlain. “We enjoy holding meetings at various locations throughout the county where we can highlight events and accomplishments of the residents, local groups and leaders.”

County Council will conduct its regular business meeting at East Lansdowne Borough Hall. There will be no meeting of County Council on July 11 at the Government Center in Media. The public agenda media, held the day before each council meeting will take place at its normal time and location at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10 at the Government Center in Media.

The July 11 meeting taking place at East Lansdowne Borough Hall marks the 26th meeting Council has held in various communities since Council launched the outreach effort with a meeting in Collingdale in February 2009. Since then, Council has held outside meetings in the City of Chester, Concord, Brookhaven, Clifton Heights, Chadds Ford, Ridley Township, Upper Darby, Glenolden, Marple, Bethel, Springfield, Prospect Park, Newtown Township, Aston, Garnet Valley, Haverford, Brandywine Battlefield Park and Radnor.
