Commemorating the Birthday of

the United States Air Force


Delaware County Council was joined by United States Air Force Veteran Staff Sergeant Kerry “Tex” Darley and Delaware County’s Military and Veterans Affair Director John Sheaffer in raising the U.S. Air Force flag outside of the Government Center on Sept. 12. The flag was raised to commemorate the birthday of the U.S. Air Force, established on September 18, 1947. The flag will fly for one week from the flagpoles in the courtyard of the Government Center and Courthouse complex and in front of the Courthouse. Staff Sergeant Kerry “Tex” Darley served in the United States Air Force from 1974 to 1992. During his time serving he led the Telecommunications Information Processing Computer Operations. His last assignment was at Headquarters Space Command NORAD in Colorado.
