April 17 is Last Day to Register

to Vote in Primary Election


Delaware County Councilman Dave White, Council's liaison to the Bureau of Elections and Voter Registration Department, informs residents that there are several important dates coming up regarding the May 16, 2017 Primary Election.

  • The last day to register to vote in the Primary Election is Monday, April 17. Citizens can register to vote at the Voter Registration Commission located in the lobby of the Delaware County Government Center, adjacent to the Courthouse, Media. Regular office hours are from 8:30 am-4:30 pm Monday-Friday. Individuals can also register online at www.co.delaware.pa.us and visit the Voter Registration department page.

  • Voter registration forms are also available at all municipal buildings, libraries and wine and spirit stores throughout the county.

To be eligible to vote, an American citizen must be 18-years-old by Election Day. Therefore, citizens who turn 18 no later than May 16, 2017 are eligible, if registered in time, to vote.

  • The deadline for absentee ballot applications is 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 9.

  • The deadline for civilians to return a voted absentee ballot is 5 p.m. Friday, May 12.

    * Note: Bureau deadlines are not based on postmarks. The item must be physically present in Bureau by the above date and time.
