Pennsylvania Food Employee Certification
The Pennsylvania Food Employee Certification Act, which took effect July 1, 2004, requires that all food establishments regulated by the PA Department of Agriculture or local health organizations have one supervisory employee certified in food safety and sanitation by the PA Department of Agriculture. To qualify for the certification program, the supervisory employee must take and pass a Department of Agriculture approved food safety course.
