REVITALIZATION PROGRAM The Delaware County Revitalization Program, an initiative of County Council, was established in 2003 with the goal of revitalizing the County’s first-generation municipalities by making them more attractive, livable, safe, and economically viable. Each of the five Revitalization planning areas has developed and adopted an Action Plan prioritizing objectives and specific projects to cooperatively work towards achieving this goal. To date, over $5 million in County funds has been awarded to Revitalization communities for planning and implementation of projects. After five annual grant rounds, Council announced that 2008 will be dedicated to evaluating and updating the existing Action Plans to ensure that the priorities established in 2002 still reflect the critical needs of the municipalities. Each community has been asked to appoint two representatives to reorganize the planning area task forces that assisted with development of the plans. The task forces will work with staff members of the County Planning Department to complete the update of the Action Plans during the latter half of 2008. Applications for the next funding round will be available in 2009. View the 2003 Action Plans in full.
