The County Solicitor, Michael P. Maddren, Esq., provides legal advice and assistance to all County Offices and Departments except the Controller and the District Attorney. Specifically, the Solicitor's duties are:

Prepare and revise ordinances and resolutions.

Provide legal opinions upon any legal matter or question submitted by Council, its subcommittees or delegates or the Executive Director.

Litigate legal actions and claim brought by or against the County except when other legal counsel is retained.

Approve for legality all contracts, agreements or other legal documents executed by authorized County Officials.
