Personnel & Risk Management
Personnel The Personnel Department under the direction of Leonard J. Maloney, coordinates the hiring, training, promotion, reassignment rotation, performance evaluation and discharge of all employees. Personnel maintains job descriptions, classification and evaluation programs and keeps records on each employee to evaluate and administrative duties can be completed periodically. The County's Affirmative Action Program and Employee Benefits are coordinated by Personnel, which also supervises all labor relations matters, including negotiations and collective bargaining and participates in all matters pertaining to grievances and arbitrations. Risk ManagementThe Risk Management Department continues to protect the county against financial consequences of accidental losses which are catastrophic in nature; preserves the county's assets and public service capabilities from loss, destruction or depletion; and minimizes the cost of all activities related to prevention and control of accidental losses and their consequences. As well as possible, Risk Management maintains a work and service environment which is safe and secure. Risk Management continues to monitor the County's self funding programs which include General Liability, workers compensation and medical insurance.
