Delaware County Citizen Corps

The Delaware County Citizens Corps is the umbrella organization for disaster volunteers in Delaware County. Member organizations include the county’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), and the County Animal Response Team (CART). The purpose of this Corps is to support existing volunteer groups by providing leadership and helping them to recruit and retain volunteers. The cumulative effect of these volunteer organizations is a community prepared to respond to and recover from any and all hazards that may present themselves in the county.

Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) The Delaware County Medical Reserve Corps is sponsored by the Delaware County Office of Intercommunity Health Coordination. The MRC collaborates with the MRC Units of Southeastern Pennsylvania,local hospitals, and other governmental and non-governmental   organization to strengthen the local emergency preparedness and response plans of the county
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates citizens about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their community and teaches them basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. The Delaware County CERT is a shared entity between all 49 municipalities and the county. 
County Animal Response Team (DelCART): The Delaware County Animal Response Team (CART) responds during emergencies and disasters to assist in the rescue and sheltering of domestic animals and livestock.
